SLAMMERS BASKETBALL

This is the Slammer basketball team site. We have an "official" site that contains current game and statistical information on eteamz. This site is linked there so you can check it out as well.

Why a second website? Quite simply, SPACE! The eteamz site is pretty limited in how many pictures and other stuff I can add. This site works as an "overflow" and there are also some features available here that are not on the eteamz site.

Now you know why the SLAMMERS wear red

How did I ever get into this? Basically, I let Dave Broberg talk me into helping him coach the girls in basketball when they were in 2nd grade. If I'd only known what we were creating...

Since then I've had a knee and a back operation. Who said coaching was easy!

Being the assistant, at least in OUR system is more than just sitting on the bench, subbing players in and out. There is a method to the madness. Everyone gets playtime...that's my #1 rule. It isn't always equal, we are trying to win games, but it is always fair to the TEAM. We videotape every game and I review the tapes for stats and to see what we did right or wrong in the game. It's also a great way to see how other teams work and bring new ideas to the coach.

Are we crazy? Yes, we're crazy about the SLAMMERS!

The Slammers played their first basketball game on January 6, 2001.
